I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people. I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

Now I will hand over to Annette for her TTT Tutorial debut...................

There's nothing like being thrown in at the deep-end on your first week on the team!!!
I really hope that I've done OK with this one, so here goes....

Criss Cross Card

For this project, you will need :
2 card blanks of the same size
(I have used square cards, 13.5cm square)
Patterned papers (I have used 3)
Double sided tape
Image & embellishments as desired
Ruler and craft knife / scissors

Step 1 :
Cut out and pre-score your two identical card blank shapes
(if they are not purchased that way already).

Step 2 :
Stick one on top of the other to create a tri-fold card. (Tip : I have found dry glue-stick or double sided tape works best because wet glue can create ripples in the card)

 Step 3:

Using a ruler draw a line between the top fold to bottom outer corner of each side panel. Cut the outer corners off at these lines and discard keep for another project !!!

Step 4 :

Fold the outer triangle panels inwards, and decorate each one as desired

Step 5 :
Open the card, and decorate the centre panel as desired.
(remember at least the top part of this will show when the card is closed)

                                                              Step 6:
Put double sided tape along the bottom length of the centre panel.
(shown with a red line on the diagram below)
Stick the right hand triangle down using this tape.
Put double sided tape along the length of the other triangle and half way up the diagonal.
(shown with a red line on the diagram below)
Stick the left hand triangle down using this tape.

Step 7 :
This should create a pocket where the base is sealed.
(Tip : don't put tape more than half way up the diagonal in step 7
otherwise you will find that the triangle sticks to the back panel
which will prevent you from sliding in your insert panel).

Step 8 :
Decorate the front panels of your card as desired.
Often something is tied (ribbon) around the card,
or a narrow 'band' of card is created to slide around the finished card.
I've used a ribbon on mine.

Step 9 :
Create an insert which will contain your greeting
You can pre-print your greeting, or handwrite it for a personal touch.
I've used a shaped insert, but as long as the insert is narrower
than your finished card then it will slide inside.
(Tip : also remember that there is tape sealing the base of your card,
so your insert also has to be shorter (height-wise) than your finished card
unless you want it to stick out the top when it is inserted)

Step 10 :
Slide in your insert and you're all done.

Alternative ideas:

1) Create a bookmark as your insert.

2) Insert another gift in the pocket,
eg lottery ticket, gift certificate, etc

3) An option is to NOT stick down the panels
so that the triangles can be opened
(remember for this option you will need
something tied around to keep the card closed
(eg a decorated band of card or ribbon/lace)

Have fun
