Hellloooooo!!
YAY another fab week last week - thank you!! To help you get into the christmas spirit, our challenge this week is:
Christmas Inspired Challenge
You can interpret that anyway you like as long as its Christmas inpired!!
-------------------------------------------
Good morning everyone, welcome to this weeks Top Tip Tuesday challenge. I'm Vee and I would like to show you how to make a very simple Coaster Gift Box. So lets get started.
You can purchase ready made coasters here but if you're like me I usually make my own, this is really simple to do.
Start with a good weight card stock and cut out 5 squares....... you can make them any size you like, I made mine 10cm sq ( 4 inches) and used white card. You can cover the card with your choice of paper or as I did emboss 4 of the squares with an embossing folder. Leaving the 5th one plain, this will be your base.
Take your square and measure in 1 cm from the left and mark this position mark again at 2cm intervals 4 times and you should be left with 1cm at the right side which matches up with the left side.
Now punch your holes where you have marked, you should have 5 holes.
Repeat this process on the opposite side.
Do this on 4 of the squares only, remember the 5th square is you base.

This part is optional but I thought it looked nice. Sponge the embossing very lightly with a stamp pad it has a really "shabby sheik" effect.
Choose a ribbon to join the pieces together and thread through the holes as shown below in a criss cross fashion, start from the back at the bottom and tie a bow at the top. Join all four pieces together, don't worry if looks a bit wobbly it will be fine when the base goes on.
Now attach the base carefully with a strong glue, I used UHU not the paper one.... the heavy duty one for all purpose. Your box should now look like this.
You are now ready to decorate and fill your little box.
Here's mine finished.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will have a go yourself.
Now onto this weeks challenge which is
CHRISTMAS INSPIRED
So a nice easy one for you all, I'm sure if you are like me you will have loads of Chrismas projects on the go at the moment so why not join in our challenge this week.
