Looking at things differently
Buttons
By Leigh Jones aka “CharityCrafter”
Hi all, many of you know me from my blog "Charity crafter" which you can find here , I am new to Top Tip Tuesday challenge blog and this is the first time I have ever been on a design team! Everyone here, has made me feel very welcome (Thanks ladies) and I am already enjoying my journey, I do hope you enjoy my first "Top Tip" and good luck to all entering our challenge, we have some lovely prizes of:
One of my many favourite embellishments are buttons, they are cheap and can be found almost everywhere, from a spare button on a new top, to pilfering a blouse you are about to throw away, to vintage buttons found at boot sales, charity shops and the pound shop. Beautiful ones bought while on holiday in flea markets, to ones you make yourself, they are everywhere. Buttons are great on cards, tags and scrapbooking and as jewellery (Just think of a scrapbook page containing buttons from a top you wore on your first date? Or when you were courting). I have given buttons as a small gift in one of my shaker cards, featured below. Here are some further examples of different buttons and uses.
Punched out buttons ~ Buttons in shaker cards ~ Stamped buttons ~ Clear decorated buttons ~ Clay buttons ~ Chipboard and grungeboard buttons ~ Felt ~ Fun foam and decorative buttons (i.e. bunch of flowers) ~ buttons as gifts (see my shaker card) ~ buttons as jewellery, on belts and clothes ~ clipart buttons ~ wooden buttons ~ ceramic/porcelain buttons ~ button background paper ~ Gel buttons ~ printed buttons ~ cardboard buttons ~ paper buttons ~ plastic buttons ~ vintage buttons ~ any decorative project ~ Acetate as buttons or covering buttons ~ buttons used in shapes and letters, as in my heart Christmas card. You can sew or glue buttons quite easily.
Here are some of my cards using buttons (please click on page to zoom in) x

Now the challenge is to use “buttons” on your card! Or project!
Thanks
